The Small Business Employers’ Organisation is registered in terms of Section 96 of the Labour Relations Act, providing services pertaining to labour related matters. The organisation was registered with the Department of Labour on 3 July 1997. It’s reference number is LR2/6/3/317. The organisation functions on a national basis and its organizers represent members at the CCMA, Bargaining Councils and / or Labour Court. Definition of an Employers’ Organisation The Labour Relations Act defines an Employers’ Organisation as follows: “Any number of employers associated together for the purpose, whether by itself or without other purposes, of regulating relations between employers and employees or trade unions” Therefore, an organisation cannot be registered as an employers’ organisation or continue to operate as a registered employers’ organisation unless –

Constitution The Small Business Employers’ Organisation has a detailed constitution setting out all aspects relating to it’s activities. Members The Small Business Employers’ Organisation is governed by an Executive Committee, consisting of an Executive Director, President, Vice – President, Treasurer and committee members. Membership Fee and Services - BACK TO TOP Members pay a membership fee which is differentiated on the basis of the number of employees employed at the business. Once the business is a member of the Employers’ Organisation, the member will enjoy representation at the CCMA, Bargaining Council or Labour Court at a further agreed fee levied for services rendered at either of said fora.
